Abstract
The Environmental Research Institute (ERI) is a department of the University of Belize (UB) that has a mission to continuously build national scientific capacity for the effective management, sustainable use and conservation of Belize’s natural resources. The ERI’s goal is that the management, conservation and utilization of Belize’s natural resources are guided by a culture of science-based learning and decision-making. The development and compilation of the National Environmental and Natural Resources Management Research Agenda was led by the Environmental Research Institute’s Science Directors: Elma Kay (Terrestrial) and Leandra Cho-Ricketts (Marine).
